Dr. Reeta Sonawat

Director – Academics & Principal Advisor
International Institute for Teacher Education & Development (II-TED)

Dr. Reeta Sonawat is a distinguished educator, researcher, and policymaker in Early Childhood Education (ECE). 

She currently leads our academic initiatives and acts as Principal Advisor to the International Institute for Teacher Education & Development (II-TED).

Additionally, she is currently Director-Academics at Ampersand Group, Mumbai and has previously served as Profesor & Dean at the Department of Human Development at SNDT Women’s University.

Having held the position of Advisor to NCERT’s Department of Elementary Education, she has also been a reviewer of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for the Foundation Stage, and a committee member for the State Curriculum Framework (SCERT, Pune). She has worked closely with UGC and multiple SCERTs to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Internationally, she has been a Global Leader for Early Childhood Care and Education at the World Forum Foundation, Montreal and a recipient of the IVLP Fellowship from the US State Department. She conducted post-doctoral research at Bremen University, Germany, and trained in Early Childhood Education and Reading Difficulties at Golda Meir Mount Carmel Institute, Israel.

Dr. Sonawat has won several prestigious awards, including the National Award for Teacher Training (NCERT), Utkrusht Teacher Award from the Governor of Maharashtra, and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Faculty Research Fellowship.

A prolific scholar and speaker, she has trained over 55,000+ teachers globally, served on academic governing bodies, and delivered invited lectures worldwide. She has published over 100 research papers and authored multiple books.
